CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match to Bethel University on Friday evening at Clark Field, losing 5-0 to the Royals. Bethel scored an early goal in the first half, seeing the visitors nets the opening goal just under two minutes in. The Royals added two more goals before the end of the first half, taking control of the match after 45 minutes of play. Bethel tallied two late goals in the second half, extending its lead to 5-0 prior to the full-time whistle. The loss drops the Kohawks to 1-4-1 overall while the Royals improve to 3-2 on the season.

- Bethel scored in its first chance of the game, taking advantage of a deflected ball inside Coe's box to grab a 1-0 lead. Isaac Howell corralled the loose ball inside the penalty area and converted the chance in the 2nd minute. Coe battled back in the next few minutes of the half, recording a shot but Kuniaki Ito saw his attempt blocked by the Bethel defense. The visitors added another to their lead in the 11th minute, scoring from a set piece that started just outside the 50 yard-line. The ball was delivered into the box by Ryan Swanda who found Howell again and the forward flicked a header into the Kohawk goal to make it 2-0. Bethel scored once more before the halftime whistle, increasing its lead to three in the 26th minute. The visitors scored twice in the waning moments of the second half, registering goals in the 86th and 88th minute to wrap up the contest.
