MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Coe College men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Monmouth College on Monday afternoon. Coe had a dominant shot advantage in the match, recording 17 to Monmouth's nine but the Fighting Scots made nine saves in the match to keep the Kohawks scoreless. The lone goal of the match came in the 30th minute on a three-on-two opportunity that the hosts cashed in on. Coe drops to 1-5-1 with the loss while Monmouth improves to 1-4-2 on the season.

- Coe and Monmouth traded early shots in the first 10 minutes of the match but both attempts on target were saved. The hosts then put some pressure on the Kohawks, registering a pair of shots in less than two minutes including one on target in the 17th minute. Monmouth scored the lone goal just over 10 minutes later, using a quick-moving attack to hit Coe on the counter. The Kohawks had a strong end to the half, getting a pair of shots before the whistle but the score remained 1-0. Coe dominated the second 45 minutes, racking up 14 shots and forcing eight saves. Despite the pressure, Monmouth stayed stout for the final half and closed out the victory for its first win of the season.
