CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team opened its 2022-23 season over the weekend at the American Rivers Conference Individual Championships. Sophomore
Graham Peterson and freshman
Ivan Burt-Smith were standout performers for the Kohawks, finishing runner-up in the A-Doubles flight to earn silver medals. The pair picked up three victories along the way before suffering a gut-wrenching 8-7 defeat to Max Loen and Luke Westholder from Luther. Bur-Smith also had a solid run in the A-Singles flight, reaching the quarter finals before falling to eventual third-place finisher Felipe Biscaro from Luther.
Conner Kryscio and
Bode Carter both reached the quarterfinals in B-Singles but suffered 8-2 and 8-5 decisions to drop out of the tournament. Coe will continue the fall portion of it schedule next week in St. Peter, Minnesota at the ITA DIII Midwest Regional Championships.
