CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Luther College on Saturday evening at Clark Field, seeing the Norse score two second-half goals to complete a come-from-behind victory. Coe got the opening goal less than seven minutes in from
Ian Kearney and had a chance to double their lead later in the first half. Luther controlled the ball for much of the second period, creating scoring chances across the first 20 minutes of the period. The Norse leveled the match in the 66th minute, scoring the equalizer after a scramble inside of Coe's penalty area. Coe pushed back and created chances of its own but Luther took the lead for good with just over five minutes to play, scoring from a direct free kick just outside the box.

- Ian Kearney scored the lone goal for the Kohawks in the seventh minute, picking up a misplayed back pass inside the Norse area before slotting a powerful shot past the keeper at the near post. The Kohawks had a great chance to double the lead just over ten minutes later as Kevin Williams narrowly missed the target on a chance that would have finished off a quick-attacking move. Luther forced just two saves from Jr. Holland in the first half, testing the Kohawk keeper in the third and eighth minute. Luther started the second period on top, creating a handful of scoring chances which again Holland and his defense dealt with. The Norse scored the opener after a scramble in the box, with a Norse player getting on the end of loose ball prior to beating the Coe keeper. The visitors kept pushing for the final minutes of the game and tied it with one of their final chances, scoring a direct free kick from just a few yards outside the box. Coe had one final chance to scratch out a point but a strong header from Adam Brada was saved with less than three minutes to play.
