Maddie Schultz won the individual title in the A-singles flight at the American Rivers Conference individual championships on Saturday afternoon. Schultz, who entered the tournament as the top seed, defeated her teammate
Alliandra Hagness 4-1, 4-0 in the championship match to earn her first individual gold medal. Schultz went 4-0 en route to the title, dropping just a handful of sets before cruising to the victory in the title bout. Hagness was also 3-0 prior to the defeat in the championship, claiming wins against opponents from Simpson, Luther and Wartburg to reach the gold medal contest. The Kohawks showed well throughout the rest of the competition, reaching numerous quarter final and semifinal stages in singles and doubles competitions.
