CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team was back at home for the first time in nearly a month on Friday evening, picking up a dominant 3-0 victory over A-R-C foe Simpson College at Kohawk Arena. Coe hit over .300 as a team for the first time in nearly 10 matches, getting at least six kills from four different players.
Madi Parson had a team-high 11 kills in the win, posting a .267 attack percentage while adding four digs.
Grace Lueken was just behind Parson with nine kills, hitting .364.
Marissa Meyer finished the match as Coe's most-efficient attacker, racking up eight kills and an attack percentage of .571.
Maddy Maahs had 33 assists for Coe and is now at 850 for the campaign.

- Coe got off to a strong start in the first, building a quick two-point advantage. The visitors fought back and regained control, using an 8-2 rally to pull ahead 18-14. The Kohawks stormed back with five-straight points to regain the lead and never looked back, taking the opening period 25-22 as Parson ended the first with a kill. Coe was on fire in the second set, hitting .412 with just two errors and 16 kills. The hosts built a 17-8 advantage in the early going and kept their foot on the gas, scoring five of the final six points for a 25-12 victory. Coe finished off the win in style, again dominating the Storm for a 25-13 win to complete the sweep. Simpson struggled with its attack in the final period, hitting -.125 with 10 errors and just six kills.
Up next: Coe is back on the court tomorrow for its second match of the weekend, hosting Central College at 11 AM at Kohawk Arena.
