AMES, Iowa - The Coe College women's golf team opened play at the American Rivers Conference championships on Saturday morning, posting a first-round total of 324. The Kohawks, who sit in third place after one round, trail leaders Dubuque and Central by 11 and seven strokes respectively.
Molly Baker and
Morgan Cain led the charge for the Kohawks, posting opening round scores of 79 and 80. Baker is currently tied for sixth, just five shots behind the individual leader, Morgan Hawkins of Dubuque. Cain is also inside the top 10 after 18 holes, bouncing back from a tough start with two birdies on her card.
Kye Daywitt and
Anja Mills sit just outside of the all-conference positions, firing scores of 82 and 83 respectively.
