AMES, Iowa - The Coe College women's golf team turned in a record team score during the second round of the American Rivers Conference championships on Sunday at the Ames Golf & Country Club. The team fired a second-round total of 309, three shots better than the previous school record set earlier this season. In addition, the squad set a new 36-hole scoring record, totaling 633 in their first two rounds of the championship. The Kohawks were led by
Megan Tanghe who posted a tournament-best score of 72, three strokes better than any other player from the first two rounds. Tanghe's new career-low round featured four birdies including a pair on the par 3s.
Morgan Cain also shot a new personal-best round on Saturday, finishing with a 78 after a round that featured two birdies.
Molly Baker and
Anja Mills followed close behind their record-setting teammates, posting rounds of 79 and 80 respectively.
Kye Daywitt equaled Mills with a second-round 80 on Sunday, joining her four eligible teammates inside the top 13 with 18 hole to play.
