16 Kohawks named to A-R-C Football all-conference teams

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - 16 Coe College football players were named all-conference performers by the American Rivers Conference earlier today in the league's postseason awards release. Alex Aitchison, Jay Oostendorp, Jack Shaw, Dominic Shepardson, Noah Theriault, Stone Cummins, Ben Adelsberger, Ben Ridenour, LaDainian Linnear, Ray Seidel, Zamari Bruce, Luke Schumacher, Jeron Senters, Luke Bradley, Julian Garcia Ayala and Carter Maske each earned a spot on one of the three all-conference squads.

Aitchison, Oostendorp and Shaw led Coe's defensive selections, earning spots on the first-team defense. The trio was crucial for the Kohakws at all three levels on defense, anchoring a unit which finished inside the top 25 in nearly every defensive category. All three Kohawks are picking up their second-straight first-team all-conference honors, while Oostendorp and Aitchison are securing their third all-conference selections of their careers. Rounding out the defensive all-conference selections for the Kohawks were Cummins, Adelsberger and Ridenour, each earning a spot on the second-team defense. Adelsberger and Ridenour completed Coe's impressive linebacking trio, finishing as the team's top-two tacklers with 69 and 45 respectively. Cummins was fourth on the team in TFLs and third in sacks, proving to be an excellent compliment to Aitchison on the other side of the defensive line.

Shepardson and Theriault were Coe's lone offensive players to be named first-team all-A-R-C. Both players were named all-conference for the second-straight season, displaying their dominance throughout the season. Shepardson averaged 78.3 yards per game throughout the conference slate and caught 52 passes with four touchdowns. Theriault led an offensive line that helped Coe register over 3,500 yards, third best in the A-R-C. Seidel, Bruce and Schumacher were right behind their teammates on the second-team offense, serving as major contributors to one of the league's most potent attacks. Seidel and Schumacher each earned their second all-conference honors while Bruce earned the first honor of his career. Senters was Coe's lone special teams player to earn a spot on one of the all-conference teams, ranking third in the A-R-C in punt returns and fifth in kick returns.

The final three Kohawk honorees, Bradley, Garcia Ayala and Maske, were named honorable mention by the A-R-C. Bradley and Garcia Ayala were a solid duo for the Kohawk special teams, ranking second in the league in net punting distance and sixth in scoring respectively. Maske continued his strong Kohawk career as the signal caller for the offense, eclipsing 2,000 passing yards with 27 total touchdowns.
