SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Coe College women's basketball team won its fifth consecutive game on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Pacific University in overtime 89-83 in comeback fashion.
Caydee Kirkham scored a season-high 31 points in the win, helping her team erase a six-point deficit late in the fourth quarter before scoring 10 of Coe's 18 points in the overtime period. The game featured back-and-forth action throughout the contest but the Kohawks scored nine of the final 12 points to force the extra period. Overall, Coe shot 48.4 percent from the floor and hit 20-of-25 free throws to secure the win. Kirkham was one of four double-digit scorers for Coe and finished one assist shy of her third-consecutive double-double.
Kaalyn Petersen recorded her fifth double-double of the season and finished with 17 games and 13 rebounds, shooting 7-of-10 from the floor.
Taylor Brunson and
Kelly Knight also finished with double-digits, scoring 14 and 10 respectively.

GAME FACTS
- Pacific raced out to an early lead in the first quarter, ripping off a 12-6 run in the first five minutes of play. Coe quickly responded with a strong close to the period, outscoring the Boxers 16-6 while shooting 7-of-8 from the floor including a buzzer-beating three-quarter-court 3 from Alina Anderson to put her team up 22-18 after one. Pacific quickly closed the gap in the second quarter, narrowly edging Coe 10-6 in the opening half of the period. The teams then went back-and-forth in the closing minutes but the Kohawks got another buzzer-beating 3 before the half as Kirkham drilled a half-court time with the time expiring to make it 39-38 at the break. The teams continued to trade punches in the early portion of the third quarter, each scoring eight points in the opening five minutes. Pacific grabbed a multi-possession lead before the end of the third quarter, using a 10-4 period-ending spurt to go ahead 56-51. The Boxers continued to hold a multi-possession lead throughout the majority of the final quarter but Coe closed the gap in the final 2:38, ripping off a 9-3 run to tie the game at 71. Kirkham and the Kohawks sealed the comeback victory in the overtime period with a bang, shooting 4-of-5 from the field while holding the Boxers to just 3-of-8 and two turnovers. Kirkham had 10 points in the period, hitting a pair of two-pointers before six game-sealing free throws.
