Schnurr & Nailor lead men's basketball to ninth-straight win at Gustavus

ST. PETER, Minn. - The (RV) Coe College men's basketball team ended its 2023 schedule with its ninth-straight victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Gustavus Adolphus 75-67 on the road. Coe, which handed the Gusties their first loss in six games, benefited from an impressive second half, outscoring the hosts 46-36 while shooting 56.6 percent from the floor and 4-of-8 from distance. The visitors trailed by two points after 20 minutes but raced back in the second half, getting an early 10-4 run in the first two minutes to grab a multi-possession lead. Coe continued to prove tough to stop over the closing moments of the game, hitting 13 of its final 25 shot attempts as Cael Schmitt, Cooper Nailor, Bennett Sherry and TJ Schnurr combined for 34 of Coe's last 36 points. Schnurr ended as the leading scorer for the Kohawks, posting 23 points and six rebounds while shooting 10-of-17.
