NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Coe College Wrestling team completed its 2023 schedule earlier on Saturday at the North Central College Open. The Kohawks had a strong showing in their final action before the New Year, putting eight athletes in placewinning positions while seeing four earn top-three spots in their weight classes. Coe was led by returning all-American
LJ Richardson and 2023 national-qualifier
Jared Voss who finished second at 174 and 184. Richardson and Voss both suffered defeats in the championship bouts to returning all-Americans from last season, dropping matches to opponents from 2023 national champion Augsburg.
Will Esmoil and
Mathieu Arsenault were close behind their teammates at 165 and 197, claiming third place with victories in the bronze medal matches.

Cade Hornback (6th - 125) and
Dresden Grimm (6th - 141) completed the placewinning efforts for the Kohawks at the loaded tournament, bringing the team's total to eight for the day.
