STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Coe College men's track and field team began its 2023 American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships on Friday, competing on the opening day of action.
Paul Cory and the distance medley relay team of
Jared Thoma, Brayden Trebon, Cole Kirkham and
Lewis Kleman were the stop performers from the first few events, scoring team points for the Kohawks. Cory earned his point-scoring finish in the long jump, posting a distance of 6.36m to secure eighth place and one team point. The distance medley relay team earned another team point later in the evening, combining to register a time of 10:46.10 to finish in eighth place. The time, which moves the Kohawk team into eighth place all-time, is the fastest by a Coe men's team since 2016.
Chris Baker was the final athlete in action on the evening, competing in the shot put where he earned 13th place with a toss of 13.53m.
Up next: The team is back in action tomorrow for the second and final day of competition with the start time scheduled for 10 AM.
