CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Lewis Kleman claimed an individual victory and a second-place finish on Friday afternoon to lead the Coe men's track field team at its annual home meet, the Forrest Rittgers Invitational. Kleman, a junior from Cedar Rapids, won the 1500m in dramatic fashion, edging second place in a photo finish by just .02 seconds. In addition, he took second in the 800m, crossing the line just over half a second behind the champion. The Kohawk men finished fourth in the team standings, earning 98.5 team points throughout the day while securing seven victories in the Bremner Cup competition. Paul Cory and Chris Baker also picked up medals for the Kohawk men, securing top-three spots in the high jump and shot put. Cory took second in the long jump, posting a mark of 6.39m which was less than .2 meters behind first. Baker finished third in the shot put for his first medal of the outdoor season, recording a throw of 14.17m. The Kohawks earned an additional medal in the 4x400 relay with the team of Paul Cory, Brayden Trebon, Cole Kirkham and Keyondrae Wilkerson finishing third after posting a time of 4:43.35.
