CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over Monmouth College on Monday evening at Clark Field. The Kohawks controlled the game throughout the contest, peppering the Fighting Scot goal early and often. Coe struggled to find the back of the net despite a lion's share of the possession and numerous big chances. Coe broke the deadlock in the 75th minute, getting the opening goal from
Jaiden Palmer who had been on the field for less than three minutes. Coe locked up the three points in the dying moments of the game, getting a second from
Ian Kearney in the 87th minute of the match.

GAME FACTS
- Coe and Monmouth both had solid scoring chances in the initial half with the Kohawks and Fighting Scots recording six and four shots respectively. The best chance of the half came for Coe in the final 10 minutes as Sam Sanchez got on the end of a cross inside the area and fired an attempt on goal, forcing a strong save from the opposition keeper.
- The Kohawks kept up the strong play in the second half, getting another shot on goal from Sanchez who saw a shot in the 62nd saved once again. Palmer came on 10 minutes later, quickly spelling Kearney before the final stretch of the match. The freshman striker made his time count, giving his team the lead with a powerful left-footed strike from just outside the penalty area. Kearney put the game on ice a little over 10 minutes later, following up a rebounded shot from James Napieralski for his third goal of the campaign.
