CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team earned a 6-4 victory over Illinois College on Thursday evening. The Kohawks erased a 2-0 deficit after the opening 21 minutes and later scored two goals in the final 75 seconds to earn their second-straight victory. The Blueboys got the high-scoring match started in the 17th minute with the opening goal and quickly added another in the 21st minute. The Kohawks fought back before the end of the first half getting a goal from
Alan Losoya in the 34th to make it 2-1 at the break. Coe continued its pressure right from the start of the second half, tying the game on an
Ian Kearney goal in the 48th. Moments later the visitors regained the lead, tallying their third goal just over a minute after Coe's equalizer. The back-and-forth action continued in the 52nd as
Jaiden Palmer leveled the match at three with a headed goal.
Dylan Pagel gave Coe the lead for the first time in the match 20 minutes later, getting on the end of passes from
Kevin Williams and Kearney before lashing the Kohawks in front. Illinois College tied the match at four in the 82nd, scoring from a direct free kick just outside the penalty area. The Kohawks refused to quit despite the late equalizer pushing until the final moments when Coe added two more goals in the 89th and 90th minute.
Jonathan Williams hammered home the game winner from just outside the box, smashing a shot with his left foot past the keeper.
Ethan Eliaquim Braga Farias put the icing on the cake with five seconds left, tallying Coe's sixth and final goal of the evening.

GAME FACTS
- Sam Sanchez forced the first save of the game in the fourth minute for the Blueboys. Illinois College fought back, dominating the next 15 minutes of play with two goals including one from a set piece.
- The Kohawks made some tactical changes in the 21st minute and turned to a handful of subs who helped change the game. Losoya scored Coe's first after Kearney had his shot blocked but the resulting bounce fell into the path of Losoya who opened the scoring for Coe.
- Coe got its second goal just three minutes into the second period as Kearney continued his team-leading goal pace with a strong left-footed finish past the keeper. Sanchez picked up his third assist of the season on the move, finding Kearney inside the box who beat his defender before finishing. The visitors quickly responded, scoring their third of the game just over a minute later to reagin momentum.
- The hosts regained momentum almost immediately as Palmer delivered a strong header past the keeper. Blake Jungman started the move before finding Kearney down the left flank. Kearney floated a perfect ball inside the six yard box and found Palmer who completed the job. Coe took its first lead of the match 20 minutes later, again stringing together numerous passes in the attacking third before finding Pagel who lashed home the go-ahead goal.
- Illinois College tied the game in impressive fashion in the 82nd minute as Tyler Schiltz delivered a perfect free kick from just outside the penalty area. The Kohawks continued to press despite the leve score, adding the deciding goal in the 89th. Coe earned a late corner which James Napieralski played to the near post. Palmer lept above his defender and flicked the header toward the edge of the penalty area where Williams patiently controlled the ball before lacing a shot in to the back of the net. Braga Farias completed the scoring for the evening with only five seconds left on the clock, scoring from inside the penalty area after Kevin Williams found him with an inch-perfect pass.
