CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team won its third-straight game on Monday evening at Clark Field, defeating non-conference foe Ripon College 3-1. The Kohawks got the goal scoring started in the ninth minute as
Ian Kearney netted his eighth goal of the campaign with a strike from the edge of the area.
Sebastian Pena quickly made it 2-0 less than 10 minutes later, tallying his first goal of the year with a strong left-footed strike past the keeper. Ripon scored the game's next goal in the early moments of the second half, slicing the deficit to one in the 53rd minute. Coe handled the Red Hawk pressure well for the remainder of the match and sealed the victory in the 77th minute as
Kevin Williams made it 3-1 with a curling left-footed hit from the right edge of the six-yard box.

GAME FACTS
- The Kohawks dominated play in the opening half, recording 11 shots in the first 45 minutes while holding the Red Hawks without any. The Red Hawk keeper was forced into a pair of saves in the first half, making both in the opening 20 minutes to keep Coe's lead at two.
- Ripon pushed back in the initial minutes of the second, scoring its lone goal on a spot kick after a sliding challenge in the box. The visitors kept the pressure up but Coe showed no signs of worry, passing through Ripon's press on numerous occasions. The game was put to rest in the 77th minute as Williams scored his first goal of the year, finishing off a quick attacking move that included an assist for Sam Sanchez.
