MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team picked up the program's first win against Cornell College since 2018 on Wednesday evening, defeating the Rams 5-0 at the Cornell Soccer Field. The Kohawks asserted their superiority early in the match, scoring the opening goal of the game just nine minutes in. The visitors extended their lead before the halftime whistle blew, getting a second in the 24th minute. Coe would continue to put the pressure on in the final 45 minutes of action, scoring three additional goals to put the game out of reach for Cornell.

GAME FACTS
- Coe started the game on top, registering a pair of early shots before Mac Adams found the back of the net with a headed effort. Ella Weber found her attacking partner with a strong cross from the edge of the box and Adams made no mistake, scoring her third of the year with ease. The Kohawks got their second goal in the 24th minute as Adams struck again, sending a lofted effort over the Rams keeper to double the advantage.
- Jordan Rosas scored Coe's third goal early in the second half, looping a shot from distance over the Ram keeper again to finish off a strong individual effort. The final goal from open play was scored in the 73rd minute as Maleah Kompsie again caught the keeper off her line before finishing into the upper portion of the net. Coe completed the scoring in the 83rd minute from the penalty spot, getting its fifth from Liberty Troupe who tallied her second goal of the campaign.
Up next: Coe plays its penultimate non-conference match this upcoming weekend, traveling to Galesburg, Illinois for a match at Knox at 2 PM.
