CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College football team handled business on Homecoming Saturday at Clark Field, dominating the visiting Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves 56-6 to remain unbeaten in 2023. The Kohawks wasted no time in the opening quarter, scoring 14 points in the opening 12-plus minutes to grab the momentum early on. The hosts piled on 21 more points in the second quarter, striking for a pair of passing touchdowns and one rushing score before the halftime break. Coe kept its foot on the gas to begin the third quarter, scoring its sixth touchdown less than one minute and 30 seconds into the period. The Kohawks went on to score the next two touchdowns before the Prairie Wolves ended the shutout early in the fourth quarter. Coe added one final touchdown in the fourth, scoring its eighth touchdown of the afternoon to make it 56-6.

GAME FACTS
- Coe shook off a slow start to the game, cashing in for its first touchdown on its second possession of the game. The offense put together a six-play, 60-yard touchdown drive in 1:44, capping off the march with a five-yard plunge from Ray Seidel. The Kohawks added their second touchdown on their next drive of the quarter, hitting for another quick score in 1:48 seconds. Carter Maske completed the scoring drive with a nice pass down the middle to Amel Saric, hooking up with his senior pass catcher from 21 yards.
- Trenton Barnes opened the scoring in the second quarter, cashing in a 28-yard scamper to end another drive that lasted less than two minutes. Dominic Shepardson joined the party for Coe's next touchdown, catching a seven-yard pass in the corner of the end zone to end a six-play, 48-yard drive. The final touchdown of the half came on a screen pass to Barnes from just outside the redzone, catching the dumpdown before sprinting past defenders for a 34-yard touchdown.
- The quick-strike offense hit again on the first possession of the half for Coe as Maske hooked up with Zamari Bruce for a 36-yard touchdown across the middle of the field. The offense and defense turned things over to the reserves following the score. Barnes added Coe's final score of the quarter for his third of the day, again capping off a lengthy drive with a four-yard touchdown to make it 49-0.
- Nebraska Wesleyan avoided the shutout early in the fourth quarter, scoring its lone touchdown with a 12-play, 67-yard drive. The Kohawks ended the scoring with a little less than four minutes left in the game as Caden Mata connected with Devon Kollasch for a two-yard touchdown pass.
