LINCOLN, Neb. – The Coe College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat at Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The Kohawks surrendered two early goals to the Prairie Wolves, conceding in the 16th and 23rd minutes to give the hosts a comfortable advantage. Coe forward
Ian Kearney scored his ninth goal of the season later in the first half, cutting the deficit to one in the 26th minute. The Kohawks continued to push for more goals in the final minutes of the first and the entirety of the second half but NWU limited the Kohawks to just one shot on goal in the final 45 minutes.

- The hosts pressured Coe early in the match, registering eight shots before the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 16th minute. Sebastian Pena fired Coe's first shot on target moments later, forcing a save in the 22nd minute as NWU kept its lead intact. The Prairie Wolves doubled the lead less than a minute after Pena's chance, hitting Coe on the counter for a 2-0 advantage. Kearney halved the deficit minutes later as the flurry of action continued, scoring an individual effort from over 30 yards after spinning a defender in the middle of the park. Coe pushed but could not find any equalizing goal in the remaining time, seeing its lone second-half shot on target saved as Trenton Kiesel came up short of the tying goal.
