CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's soccer team picked up its second A-R-C victory of 2024 on Tuesday evening, defeating Buena Vista 4-0 at Clark Field. The Kohawks dominated the game from start to finish, racking up 22 shots compared to just three from the visitors.
Brandon Kostelny opened the scoring moments into the game, giving Coe the lead for good in the fourth minute.
Ian Kearney bagged his 10th goal of the season in the second half, doubling the lead less than ten minutes into the period. Kostelny got on the scoresheet again less than a minute later, tapping home a perfectly placed cross for 3-0.
Talon Sargent wrapped up the scoring for the Kohawks in the 72nd minute, finishing off another solid team move to make it 4-0.

- Kostelny wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, picking up an errant pass from the BV keeper just outside the area before slotting home a nice finish. Coe pushed for more goals for the remainder of the first half, creating various chances that went by the wayside. The Kohawks were far more clinical in the second half, cashing in for three insurance goals to seal the win. Kearney scored the second on a header, guiding it past the keeper after Sebastian Pena floated a ball into the six-yard box. Three Kohawks were involved in the third goal as Kearney sprung Pena down the left flank with an incisive pass before the latter's low cross was finished by Kostelny. Sargent sealed the deal in the 72nd minute as Coe worked its way through the BV defense again. Matthew Brand started the final goal with another excellent cross, picking out Sargent who scored with ease.
