DECORAH, Iowa – The Coe College men's soccer team dropped a road match on Saturday afternoon at Luther, falling 3-2 to the Norse. The Kohawks went behind early in the contest, conceding the opening goal in the third minute. Coe battled back before the end of the first half, tying the game at one in the 34th minute with a goal from
Juan Suarez. Luther quickly restored its lead in the opening moments of the second period, scoring less than five minutes in to go up 2-1. The Norse padded the lead with another goal in the 70th minute, extending the advantage to 3-1 with a looping effort form inside the area. Coe got itself back into the game with more than 10 minutes to play as
Isaiah Jakel beat the keeper. The Norse hung tough for the final moments and saw out the victory, limiting Coe to just one shot that missed the target.

- Luther's opening goal came early in the match, whipping a ball into the box before a headed effort found the back of the net. Suarez scored the game's next goal late in the first period, converting a well-worked team move that started with a pass from Ian Kearney in the midfield, springing Tinashe Manyanga who put it on a plate for Suarez. Luther responded well in the second half, scoring a pair of goals in 20 minutes to regain a comfortable lead. Coe continued to press despite the two-goal deficit, getting back into the game as Jakel scored the Kohawks' second goal to make it 3-2 on an assist from Jack Resado. The Norse managed the final 10-plus minutes of action, allowing just one Coe shot from Manyanga that missed the target in the dying seconds of the match.
