CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's volleyball team celebrated lone senior
Gracie Urbatsch in style on Saturday morning, sweeping the Buena Vista University Beavers 3-0 at Kohawk Arena. Coe got off to a solid start in the opening period, hitting .244 as a team en route to a 25-21 decision. The Kohawks dominated in set two, easing their way to 2-0 lead with a 25-12 victory. BVU pushed the hosts in the clinching set, taking Coe to the wire but a 25-22 win secured the sweep.
Maggie Furlong had a team-high 13 kills, closely followed by Urbatsch who also hit double-figures with 11.
Maddy Maahs had 40 assists and 16 digs while
Kelsey Hansel and Furlong had 13 and 12 respectively.

GAME FACTS
- Urbatsch was on fire in the opening period, racking up six kills in 12 attempts to lead the team. Furlong chipped in with five first-period kills, helping Coe to the 25-21 decision. Coe's offense continued to click in the second set, hitting a match-high .355 with 13 kills and just two errors. Furlong ripped off five more kills while Maddie Harris, Hansel, Tessa Casebolt and Urbatsch picked up two each. The Kohawks took advantage of sloppy play from the Beavers in the final set, limiting the visitors to only nine kills and seven errors. Harris led the attacking effort in the set, posting a team-high five kills on 13 swings. Furlong and Urbatsch each had three in the clinching frame, helping Coe to the 3-0 victory.
