MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Coe College men's soccer team picked up its fourth win of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Cornell, defeating the Rams 2-0 in the 2024 Bremner Cup match. The Kohawks took the lead late in the first half as
Adam Brada found the back of the net for the first time this season.
Ian Kearney, who assisted the opening goal, added his eighth goal of the campaign in the second half. The junior doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 59th minute, giving Coe cushion which was enough for the victory.
Jr. Holland recorded his fourth clean sheet of the year, making four stops including a penalty kick early in the second half.

GAME FACTS
- The Rams forced an early save from Holland, firing a shot on target in the sixth minute. The Kohawks controlled much of the remaining half, recording a pair of shots that were saved before finding the opener. Brada had just missed the target in the 30th minute but capitalized in the 34th to make it 1-0. Coe threatened for more in the period, getting shots from Hudson Ryder and Tinashe Manyanga that missed the frame. Holland made a save seconds into the second half, stopping a shot to keep it 1-0. Cornell had a golden chance to level the game in the 57th minute, being awarded a penalty but Holland stood tall and kept out George Archer's spot kick. The Kohawks used the momentum and found the hammer blow in the 59th as Kearney converted a penalty for a 2-0 lead. The Kohawks had two more shots on goal in the frame from Isaiah Jackel and Ethan Eliaquim Braga Farias but the Ram keeper was strong and kept it 2-0. Coe's defense did well to shut down the Rams for the final 15-plus minutes, limiting the hosts to just one shot on goal which Holland saved with ease.
