CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College student-athletes Sam Shaw and Sophia Fain were recognized by the American Rivers Conference as performers of the week in Tuesday's conference honors release. Shaw, a fifth-year linebacker on the football team, helped the Kohawks roll to 5-0 with a 43-10 victory over Loras. The Atkins, Iowa native had a team-high 13 tackles including six solo stops and two for loss. He also had one interception and one forced fumble, wreaking havoc from the opening whistle. Fain was a perfect 6-0 individually as the Coe Women's Tennis team went 3-0 with victories over Loras, Simpson and Central. Fain was 3-0 at the top singles spot, claiming three straight-set wins at number one. She was also an unblemished 3-0 in doubles with partner Alice Tysoe, going 2-0 at number two and 1-0 at number one.
