WACO, Texas — Coe College senior offensive linemen
Luke Schumacher ended his decorated career with the ultimate honor, being named an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) second team all-American Wednesday morning. The Waukee native has been a pillar for the Kohawks run to three consecutive NCAA Playoff appearances and was dominant in his senior season. Schumacher anchored the offensive line at the left tackle position, protecting the blindside of
Brady Kelly who threw a Coe single-season record 32 touchdown passess. Additionally, Schumacher helped pave the way for the run game that totaled over 2,300 yards on the ground while rushing for 26 scores. A four-time all-conference honoree, Schumacher makes it three straight seasons in which a Kohawk has been named an all-American.
