CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College wrestling team hosted its annual home invitational on Saturday at Kohawk Arena. The Kohawks welcomed athletes from nine schools and dominated the tournament as seven wrestlers claimed individual titles.
Brayden Parke, Bryce Parke, Dresden Grimm, Ty Koedam, LJ Richardson, Jared Voss and
Mathieu Arsenault all picked up titles to lead the squad. Brayden and Bryce posted four bonus-point victories each en route to titles at 125 and 133 as the freshmen Brayden secured four wins by fall. Grimm followed suit at 149 with four bonus-point victories including a major decision in the title match. Koedam claimed the title at 157, claiming a pair of victories by decision and one via tech fall. Richardson secured a trio of bonus-point wins in the 174-pound bracket, defeating his opponent from Millikin in the final with a pin in 5:40. Voss won four matches en route to the title at 184, earning a narrow 7-6 decision in the title match against an NIACC opponent. Arsenault was the final Kohawk to claim an individual title, winning the 197-pound bracket with a major decision, fall and decision in the title match.
