LJ Richardson made headlines during the tournament, going 4-0 with four bonus-point victories and a pair of ranked wins while picking up the individual title at 174 pounds. Richardson entered the day ranked fifth in the weight class and began his tournament with a 15-0 tech fall in the first round and a first-period pin in the second. He toppled his first ranked opponent in the semifinal with a 20-5 tech fall win over North Central's seventh-ranked Javen Estrada. Richardson pulled off an upset victory in the championship match, defeating fourth-ranked Seth Goetzinger of Augsburg with a 13-3 major decision. Coe had five other place-winners in the event with
Bryce Parke (4th - 133),
Dresden Grimm (3rd - 149),
Ty Koedam (5th - 157),
Jared Voss (2nd - 184) and
Damari Dancy (5th - 285) helping the Kohawks finish fourth on the team leaderboard. Voss, ranked 14th before the tournament, defeated 15th-ranked Payton Geigner of North Central in the semifinals before falling to top-ranked Sampson Wilkins in the championship match.
