DECORAH, Iowa - The Coe College Swim & Dive teams opened the American Rivers Conference Championships on Thursday on the campus of Luther College. Coe's initial day was highlighted by numerous school records as
Megan Norris and
Margaret Rhodes etched their names in the Kohawk record books. Norris broke her own record in the 1M diving twice on Thursday, first in the preliminary round with a score of 478.75 before another record score of 481.75 in the finals. Norris, who was the 2023 A-R-C Female Diver of the Meet, won the 1M competition with ease, defeating second place by over 60 points. Rhodes also joined school record setting club on the opening day, taking second place in the 500 Free with a time of 5:14.28, bettering the previous time by over one second. Additionally, Coe picked up a medal finish in the women's 200 Free Relay, taking third place as the team of Rhodes,
Hollye Gutierrez, Lynice Perkins and
Valerie Gutierrez turned in a time of 1:41.07.
