CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team dropped a non-conference match on Saturday at the Clark Racquet Center, falling to Augustana. The Vikings got things started in doubles play, claiming a 3-0 sweep behind a pair of 8-4 wins and a narrow 8-7 at number three. Augustana continued to control the momentum in the singles competition, going on to win five of six matches in straight sets. Freshman
Bryton Short claimed the lone point for the Kohawks in the match, earning a 7-6, 6-2 win over his opponent at the number three spot. Short, a native of Metamora, Illinois, is now 5-3 in singles play this year and has won three-straight matches.
Up next: The Kohawks head to Florida for their next seven matches from March 10-13, playing at a variety of venues in the Orlando area.
