ST. PETER, Minn. – Coe College men's tennis freshman Daniel Rohlman made history on Sunday at the ITA Regional Championships, winning the "B" Singles Midwest Open bracket with six victories including a 7-6, 7-6 decision in the title match against Luther's Rhys Biro-Moore. The freshman won all but one match in straight sets, pulling out a 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 decision in the round of 16 to advance. Jumpei Kasai and Joshua Tiemann each advanced to the round of 32 but were eliminated with Kasai dropping a narrow 4-6, 6-3, 8-10 decision. Luke Doig, Grant Idoux, Bryton Short, Ivan Burt-Smith and Graham Peterson all represented the Kohawks in the top ITA Regional Championship flight with four of five picking up one victory. Short and Kasai teamed up for Coe's best performance in the top doubles flight, winning a pair of matches to reach the round of 16 before an 8-6 defeat. Isaac Hinze and Alex Palomar continued their strong start to the year, reaching the seminal round of the B Doubles flight with a trio of wins. Josh Kruger and Tiemann and Harry Hawbaker and Bode Carter each picked up a pair of wins in the B Doubles flight but dropped a pair of close matches in the round of 32.
