CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The no. 6 Coe College wrestling team battled to the very end but fell short in an American Rivers Conference dual Tuesday evening, falling 20-15 to no. 9 Loras College. The Duhawks opened the match with a major decision at 125 but
Bryce Parke quickly responded with a major of his own, picking up a dominant 12-1 victory. Loras continued the back and forth action at 141, narrowly edging out a 4-2 decision to retake the lead in the contest.
Dresden Grimm made it 7-7 after four matches at 149, picking up a 14-12 victory that featured a quick-striking seven-point move. Loras took control of the match with three-straight victories at 157, 165 and 174, gaining momentum after the intermission. The Kohawks secured back-to-back majors at 184 and 197 as
Jared Voss and
Mathieu Arsenault each claimed 10-1 victories. The heavyweights capped off a night of fiercely competitive action but a 7-3 victory for Jonah Clark of Loras gave the Duhawks the edge on the final scoreboard.
