CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's basketball team picked up its 12th straight win to start 2025, defeating the Central College Dutch 81-39 at Kohawk Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Kohawks controlled the contest from the opening whistle, building an early double-digit lead within the first five minutes of action and never looked back, securing their second-straight 40-plus point victory. Caydee Kirkham who became the 15th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000 career point mark as she finished with a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Kirkham and
Taylor Brunson were the driving forces for the Kohawk offense, combining for 40 of the 81 points while
Kelly Knight hit double-digits with 11 points. Overall, Coe shot 48 percent from the floor and 39.3 percent from deep while holding Central to 25 percent shooting and 16 percent from beyond.

GAME FACTS
- The Kohawks got things going in the first quarter, outscoring Central 29-8 in the first period as Brunson and Kirkham combined for 18 points in the opener. Coe's lead quickly grew in the second quarter, ripping off an 11-2 run to start the frame and extend the advantage to 30 at 40-10. The Kohawks continued to force the issue before the end of half, stretching the lead to 51-17 at the halftime. Central had a better start to the third quarter, trading buckets with the Kohawks for the first four minutes of action. The hosts took control and put the game away for good in the closing minutes of the quarter, ending the period with 13 unanswered points to lead 73-26. Coe's reserves completed the job in the fourth quarter, getting eight points in the quarter from Quinn Grubbs as the Kohawks claimed the 81-39 victory.
