CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College Director of Athletics & Recreation Steve Cook announced Tuesday the hiring of Olivia Pendleton as the next head dance team coach. Pendleton, set to start her role immediately, has experience in collegiate and competitive dance as well as administrative expertise in higher education. 
 
"We are very excited to have selected Olivia to lead the Kohawk dance team," said Cook. "She brings a wealth of personal experience in performance and competitive dance and has been an extraordinary leader on Coe's campus in our student life department. I am looking forward to the future of our dance program with someone dedicated to creating a high-level student-athlete experience."
 
Currently serving as the Assistant Dean of Students & Title IX Coordinator at Coe, Pendleton brings years of college campus experience and dance background to the position. A 2013 graduate of Concordia University Chicago, Coach Pendleton was an assistant dance instructor at Dance Elite from 2007-2009 and was a member of the Junior Company at Ashelian Dance Company. 
 
"I am excited and honored to take on the role of Head Coach of the Coe College Dance Team," Pendleton said. "I am committed to helping the students grow as athletes and as individuals. The future is bright, and I can't wait to see what this next chapter holds for our program!"
 
Collegiately, Pendleton was the Cheer & Dance team captain for Concordia University Chicago, designing and leading practice for a 20-member team. In her role, she focused on technique, skills and choreography instruction and review. Additionally, she mentored new teammates, created and set original choreography for collegiate halftime shows and coordinated team and campus spirit initiatives.
