ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Coe College football team picked up its first NCAA playoff victory since 2016 last week in dominant fashion at Concordia Wisconsin, defeating the NACC champion 44-7 to advance to round two of the playoffs. The Kohawks will face a familiar foe in the second round, traveling to Arden Hills, Minnesota to face no. 3/4 Bethel University, the undefeated MIAC champion which reached last year's quarterfinal round before a narrow 24-21 loss at Susquehanna. The Royals boast the nation's top red zone defense and the second ranked total offense and total defense, bringing a stiff challenge to both Kohawk units.
Brady Kelly, who ranks fourth in the nation in passing efficiency, will be tested by Bethel as he looks to extend his single-season touchdown record, currently sitting with 30 for the year. Coe's defense is no cake walk in the red zone itself, ranking 18th in the nation in the red area while ranking 22nd overall in scoring.
Noah Tolbert has been on a tear for Coe's defense in the last two games, totaling 26 tackles in wins at Central and Concorida.
