CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College football team closed its home schedule with a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, dismantling the Loras College Duhawks 63-7 on senior day. The Kohawks got started from the opening kick as
Leighton Charters picked off the opening pass of the game to set the tone. Coe's offense answered the call and capitalized with an eight-yard touchdown pass to
Quincy Drummer for 7-0. The Kohawks added two more touchdowns and a safety before the end of the quarter, establishing a 23-0 advantage after 15 minutes.
Brady Kelly connected with Drummer for another score, dumping off a pass to his running back who sprinted 55-yards past the defenders for a 30-0 lead. The Kohawks added two more scores before the end of the half as
Isaiah Lee ripped off an 81-yard score before a 12-yard plunge from Drummer. Kelly threw a record-breaking touchdown early in the third quarter to put the game on ice, connecting with
Latrell Taylor for a 25-yard score, Kelly's 28th TD pass of the season, a new single-season Kohawk record.
Andrew White added two more scores before the third quarter ended, rushing for 80-yard and 74-yard touchdowns to cap off an explosive day for the offense. Coe totaled 353 yards on the ground, averaging 9.1 yards per tote while finding the end zone four times. Defensively, Coe was led by
Jack Stevenson (8 tackles) and
CJ Johnson (7 tackles) while
Stone Cummins had four solo stops and three sacks.

- Charters made an instant statement to start the game, picking off a looping pass down the middle to put Coe on offense. Kelly and the Kohawks quickly moved it into scoring territory as he hit Devon Kollasch for a 46-yard bomb to get inside the red zone. Four plays later, Kelly floated a pass toward the back of the end zone, connecting with Drummer for the opening score. Noah Tolbert made the next impact play for Coe's offense, picking off a third and nine pass and returning it 24-yards for a pick-six. Another three-and-out from the Duhawks gave Coe strong field position at its 48 with 7:01 on the quarter clock. Kelly hit Jeron Senters for the game's third touchdown, finding Senters down the middle before the wideout sprinted to the end zone. Coe added two points before the end of the quarter on a Loras miscue as a punt from deep inside Duhawk territory failed with the snap sailing over the punter's head and out of the end zone for a safety. Drummer and the Kohawks put an exclamation point on the sequence to start the second quarter as Kelly dumped a pass off to his running back before a sprint down the far sideline for the 55-yard score. Lee was Coe's next big play, making it 37-0 with an 81-yard score where he broke through the defense and beat everyone to the endzone. The Kohawks capped off the first half with another strong sequence, forcing a fumble on a short completion before Drummer scored from 12-yards out to make it 43-0. Kelly stayed in the game early in the third quarter to throw the record-setting touchdown pass, connecting with Taylor in the right corner of the endzone for a 25-yard score, marking his 28th touchdown pass of the year. Coe turned to its reserves for the remainder of the game and didn't let up, adding two more touchdowns on huge runs from White who finished the game with 199 yards rushing on just eight carries.
