GRINNELL, Iowa – The Coe College women's track & field team opened its indoor season Friday evening at Grinnell College. The Kohawk women turned in numerous top six finishes and a trio of podium finishes as Lily Mayo and Piper Boggs led the group. Mayo claimed the lone victory for the team, placing first in the 1 Mile with a time of 5:43.62. Following Mayo on the individual leaderboard was Brieannah James who placed third to lead a group of four Kohawks who rounded out the top six in the 1 Mile. Natalie Reifsteck, Alexis Vaughn and Roz Hoefflin were Coe's other top finishers in the mile, placing fourth, fifth and sixth. Piper Boggs made noise in the weight throw for the women, placing second with a massive PR of 12.78m, over a meter further than her previous best. Reonna Pendleton and Denise Smith were Coe's final two top-six finishers, placing fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the shot put resepectively.
