CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The no. 9 Coe College wrestling team suffered a defeat Friday evening at Kohawk Arena, dropping an American Rivers Conference dual to no. 2 Wartburg 33-9. The Kohawks, who celebrated their senior class prior to the dual, had some positive results despite the loss.
Bryce Parke and
LJ Richardson claimed the team points for the Kohawks, earning victories at 133 and 174. Parke pulled out a narrow 10-9 victory over Josh Grevey with a bonus-point for riding time. Richardson picked up Coe's lone bonus-point victory of the evening, pinning Devin Nobiling in 2:14 after a dominant opening frame. Coe fell by decision in four of the remaining seven bouts, putting up strong efforts throughout the matchup.
