CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's tennis team fell 4-3 to Augustana College in a tightly contested non-conference match at Clark Racquet Center Saturday. The Kohawks got off to a strong start, claiming the doubles point with a 2-1 decision.
Jumpei Kasai / Bryton Short and
Daniel Rohlman / Ivan Burt-Smith picked up 6-2 and 6-3 wins respectively to put Coe up 1-0 after the initial competition. Augustana responded in singles, picking up the necessary four points to secure the victory. Coe managed two points in the matches as Short won 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 at number two while
Joshua Tiemann won 6-1, 6-2 at number four.
