CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College Volleyball Head Coach April Elsbernd announced the addition of Ilah Perez-Johnson to her coaching staff ahead of the 2025 season. Perez-Johnson, a decorated collegiate player at Cornell College, joins the Kohawks after serving as a graduate assistant at Northern State University this spring. A 2024 AVCA DIII All-American, she earned four all-Midwest Conference selections and three consecutive all-region first-team honors while at Cornell.

"We're grateful and excited to welcome Coach Perez-Johnson to our staff this fall," said Elsbernd. "As a student-athlete, she built an incredible career through her intentional approach and high volleyball IQ—qualities that will make her transition into coaching seamless and invaluable. I look forward to seeing her share her knowledge and passion for the game as she mentors our hitters and contributes to the Kohawk Volleyball program."
