WINONA, Minn. – The Coe College men's soccer team had a positive end to its Minnesota road trip Saturday evening, drawing 1-1 with Saint Mary's University. The Kohawks and Cardinals were scoreless for much of the match until
Ian Kearney broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute. Coe did its best to hang on to the lead in the final moments of the match but the hosts scored an equalizing goal in the 83rd minute after a loose ball scramble inside the box. Coe pushed to find the game-winner in the closing minutes but a shot from
Sebastian Pena in the 85th minute was saved as the points were shared.

COE 1 - SAINT MARY'S 1
- William Shaw made an early save for Coe, keeping it scoreless after a shot from the hosts in the ninth minute. Talon Sargent registered the Kohawks' first attempt, seeing a shot save moments later in the 13th. Coe and Saint Mary's traded empty opportunities later in the period with the game going into the break 0-0. The Kohawks finally scored the game's first goal in the 73rd minute as Tinashe Manyanga played a perfectly weighted through ball for Kearney who ran past his defender and danced around the keeper before scoring his fourth of the season. The Cardinals quickly went in search of the tying goal, forcing Shaw into saves in the 74th and 81st minutes. The hosts leveled the match in the 83rd minute, scoring from just inside the box after pouncing on a loose ball in the area. Pena had a chance to give Coe the win in the closing moments, forcing a save in the 85th minute as the Kohawks had to settle for the draw.
