MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Coe College women's soccer team picked up a point on the road at Monmouth Wednesday evening, playing to a scoreless 0-0 draw with the Fighting Scots. Coe outshot the hosts 19-13 overall including a 12-6 advantage in the second half but six shots on goal all came up empty as Coe was forced to settle for the draw.
Magdalynne Preuss led Coe's attacking effort with a pair of shots on target while
Rebecca Allers, Elly Manning, Ryllyn Heffelfinger and
Danielle Boche each recorded one.
Cecillie Monroe kept the clean sheet in goal for the Kohawks, making five saves in 87 minutes to record her first shutout of the year.

- Monroe was forced into a pair of saves early in the match, keeping it 0-0 after stops in the 3rd and 6th minutes. Coe grew into the game and started to take control, recording four shots in the next 15 minutes including an attempt on net from Heffelfinger that was saved. Preuss tested the keeper later in the half before the whistle, having a shot saved in the 44th minute as things were level at the half. Both teams had chances early in the second half but a shot from Boche in the 61st was the first attempt on target in the period. Preuss forced another stop minutes later, registering her second shot on frame in the 65th before a lull in the match. Coe had two more shots stopped in the final 15 minutes as Manning and Allers recorded shots during a period of Coe dominance. Monroe was forced into the final save of the match in the 82nd minute, keeping the clean sheet intact with a scrambling save.
