Box Score 2 WAVERLY, Iowa – The Coe College men's tennis team opened its 2025 fall season at the American Rivers Conference Individual Championships on Friday and Saturday. The Kohawk men were led by junior
Bryton Short who finished runner-up in the top singles flight after entering the tournament unseeded. Short handled Luther's Gerardo Mainou Ramirez and Gregor Gottein in the opening two rounds and later defeated teammate
Anthony Schulte to reach the championship match. Short and Schulte battled in the semifinal matchup with Short edging the freshman 10-4 in the tiebreaker. Short forced another tiebreaker in the championship match against top-seeded Joao Benvenutti, falling 10-3 in the clinching set.
Isaac Hinze and
Nathaniel Miller claimed Coe's other medal at the championships, picking up third place honors in the third-place flight after a 6-2 decision over Wartburg's pairing of Keegan Weber and Cole Palese.
