DECATUR, Ill. – The Coe College women's golf team played the first 18 holes of the Dechert Classic hosted by Millikin University Friday afternoon, shooting an opening round 343. The Kohawks are in third place after the opening 18 holes, seven shots shy of the leading team Illinois Wesleyan. Kye Daywitt (84, 7th), Lia Maxwell (85, T8) and Paige Franzen (85, T8) were Coe's top finishers for the first round of action and were followed by Morgan Witte (89, T18) who concluded the team scoring. Madison Connolly was Coe's top individual for the tournament, sitting in a tie for 20th with 18 holes to play.
