DECORAH, Iowa — The Coe College volleyball team picked up its first A-R-C win of 2025 Tuesday evening, defeating Luther College 3-1 on the road. The Kohawks claimed the match 25-20, 25-27, 25-19 and 25-20, dropping just one set as three players reached the double-digit kill mark. Coe erased an early deficit in the first set with a strong run midway through the frame, taking a 1-0 lead. Luther went toe-to-toe with the Kohawks in set two, grinding out a 27-25 decision to level the match. The Kohawks went on to dominate sets three and four, hitting .360 in the third and .313 in the clincher.

Tessa Casebolt (10) led Coe's attacking effort in the victory with the Kohawks hitting .265 as a team.
Maddy Maahs added four kills and 43 assists while
Maggie Furlong had four block assists and two solos to lead the defensive unit.

COE 3 - LUTHER 1
- Luther started well in the opening set, ripping off a 7-3 run to start the set on top. Coe responded with a dominant run on its own, using a 12-5 run to go up 15-12. Hansel powered the run, registering Coe's four kills during the stretch. The Kohawks managed their lead over the final few points of the set, outscoring Luther 10-8 while getting a set-winning kill from Maahs. The Norse battled back in set two, trading points with the Kohawks throughout the frame to lead 22-20 late. Luther took a 24-20 lead and fended off a late comeback from the Kohawks, outlasting the hosts 27-25 in extra points. Coe and Luther were neck-and-neck in the midway period of the third set with the hosts leading 15-14. The Kohawks dominated the closing stretch, scoring 10 of the final 15 points to go up 2-1. Coe's impressive attack continued in the final frame, hitting .313 as a team with five kills from Casebolt in the frame. The Kohawks raced out to a 15-8 lead in the frame and later responded from a five-point run from Luther, scoring eight of the final 14 points to win the set and the match.
