GAME FACTS
COE 62 - CORNELL 6
- Coe's offense struck five plays into the game as Kelly hooked up with Kollasch for a bomb down the middle of the field, hitting his senior wideout in stride for a 7-0 lead. After one play and one first down for the Rams, Coe's defense got a sack from Stone Cummins and turned it back to the offense. The second scoring drive was more methodical, working 10 plays across 4:22 before Tre'sean Cunningham capped off the 67-yard drive with a two-yard plunge. A Brant Tedrow sack on third down of the following drive again got Coe back on the offensive side of the ball. Kelly again found Kollasch streaking down the middle for 21-0, hitting the senior for a 31-yard strike, their second hookup of the day. Quincy Drummer capped off Coe's next scoring drive from one-yard out after Kelly and the offense marched into the red zone. Another dominant three-and-out from the defense set up Coe's next touchdown, taking over at the plus 49 before Kelly found James Hutton for a nine-yard score to make it 35-0. The Kohawk put an exclamation point on the first half in the final minute as Cummins and Tedrow combined for the defensive score. Cummins disrupted the Ram quarterback, hitting his arm to jar the ball loose. Tedrow was fortunate to have the ball land in his arms before sprinting the sideline for 42-0. Cornell scored first in the third quarter after a long lull, taking over at the Coe 41 after a poor punt before moving into the red zone and cashing in. The Kohawks responded well and kept the Rams at bay for the remainder of the game, keeping them at 6. Smith stepped into the huddle and led a scoring drive on the following possession, marching the Kohawks 71 yards in six plays before an Andrew White 19-yard score capped it off. Smith went to the air for Coe's next touchdown, connecting with Baethke for a 20-yard score and 55-6. White put the final icing on the cake in the fourth quarter, slamming it home from three yards to make it 62-6.
