CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Crown College on Saturday in the team's 2025 home opener at Clark Field. The Kohawks, who outshot the Polars 24-5, fell behind in the 19th minute as Crown scored on a counter attacking move. Coe quickly answered in the 20th minute, getting the equalizing goal from freshman
Kylie Ireland who scored her first collegiate goal on a powerful strike from outside the area. The hosts went on to dominate possession and the chances for the remainder of the game, but 15 total saves from the visitors kept it locked for the final 70 minutes.

COE 1 - CROWN 1
- The Polars had the first shot on goal in the fourth minute, forcing a save from Cecillie Monroe early on. Crown found the back of the net for the game's first goal later in the half, playing a few passes through the middle of the Coe defense before a couple of faints created space and the goal. Ireland came from the bench and made an instant impact for the Kohawks, picking up a loose ball outside the area before blasting a strike toward goal. The keeper got an initial hand on the shot but the spin took the ball off the underside of the bar and back into the goal as Coe tied the match at one. Coe went on to force three more saves before the end of the half, with its best chances coming in the 24th minute but a pair of shots were blocked by numerous defenders to keep it tied. The Kohawks recorded 19 more shots in the second half in search of the second goal, finding the target 12 times. Crown managed to keep a second-half clean sheet, grinding out the draw as the Polars hunkered down in their defensive half.
