Men's Tennis picked runner-up in A-R-C preseason coaches' poll

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference announced its 2025-26 men's tennis preseason coaches poll Tuesday.  The Kohawk men's tennis team was picked second in the poll, earning a total of 58 points and two first-place votes. Reigning champion Luther was tabbed as the league favorite while Wartburg, Loras, Central, Nebraska Wesleyan, Dubuque, Buena Vista and Simpson round out the poll. Coe is coming off a strong fall where Bryton Short finished runner-up in the A-R-C individual championships while Anthony Schulte reached the semifinals. The Kohawks return five all-conference performers from 2025 with Short, Grant Idoux, Ivan Burt-Smith, Jumpei Kasai, Daniel Rohlman and reigning A-R-C rookie of the year Joshua Tiemann anchoring Coe's team. 
 
The season begins with a slew of home matches, welcoming Carthage (1/31), Central (1/31), UW-La Crosse (2/7), Cornell (2/7), Wabash (2/14), UW-Stevens Point (2/14), Greenville (2/21) and Wartburg (2/21) in the first three weeks of the campaign. Coe hits the road for the first time on the final day of February, taking on UW-Whitewater (2/28) before closing its pre-Spring Break schedule at home against Augustana (3/7). 
 
Spring Break features eight matches including four *B Squad* matches. The Kohawks will face Illinois Wesleyan (3/15), Hobart (3/15), Franklin and Marshall (3/15), Edgewood (3/16), UW-La Crosse (3/17), George Fox (3/17) and Southwestern (3/18). Coe is back at home following the trip, hosting Grinnell (3/28) and Carleton (4/11) in a pair of regional clashes at Clark Racquet Center. 
 
The Kohawks return to conference action for the remainder of the regular season, facing Loras (4/12) and Dubuque (4/12) on the road. The final three matches at Clark Racquet Center follow with Central (4/18), Simpson (4/18) and preseason favorite Luther (4/19) coming to Cedar Rapids. Coe closes out the season on the road for two final A-R-C contests, facing Nebraska Wesleyan (4/24) and Buena Vista (4/25) before the A-R-C AQ Tournament April 28 - May 2.
