CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's tennis team pushed its current winning streak to seven matches Saturday at Clark Racquet Center, picking up a pair of shutout wins over Greenville and Wartburg. The Kohawks wasted no time in the opening session of the day, sweeping the competition with 7-5, 6-4 and 6-3 wins in doubles from
Jumpei Kasai / Bryton Short, Daniel Rohlman / Anthony Schulte and
Ivan Burt-Smith / Joshua Tiemann. The hosts finished the job in singles with another shutout performance, winning all six matches including four in straight sets. All six Kohawks remained in the lineup for singles, with each player earning their second wins of the day. The same six Kohawks and same three pairings made it a perfect 6-0 in doubles on the day with a sweep of the Knights, winning 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1 in the initial competition against Wartburg. Schulte, Tiemann, Short and Kasai returned to the courts for singles, each earning straight sets wins while
Grant Idoux and
Luke Doig stepped in for their first wins of the day.
