Anthony Schulte earns program’s first ITA Regional Rookie of the Year honor

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College men's tennis freshman Anthony Schulte picked up another postseason honor earlier this week, being named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Rookie of the Year. Schulte, a Cedar Rapids native, instantly took over as the top Kohawk singles player and posted a 21-8 record overall. The Prairie prep product was 16-5 in dual matches and reached the A-R-C Individual Championship semifinals in the fall. He also reached the quarterfinals at the ITA Central Region championships before falling to top-seeded Gage Gohl from Gustavus. Schulte becomes the first player in program history to pick up the award and adds it to his A-R-C Rookie of the Year honor from earlier this Spring.
